EVENT CANCELLED 30 August 2025
Unfortunately we have had to cancel this months Chess Challenge. We will hopefully be back for the end of October. Please keep an eye out on our socials for updates. Thank you for your support.
Museums can be quiet contemplative places, especially when they are closed! We give chess players a chance to experience it.
We invite all levels of chess players; Grand Masters to enthusiasts to join us for a match for an hour before the museum opens and then play for another hour as the visitors arrive. The event is free to attend but there is a suggested £2 donation, if you are able. This donation can be paid on the day at the front desk.
The planning and brain power to execute your strategic advance is not much different from challenges solved by Andrew Carnegie's business brain as he grew his bridge building company during the American Industrial Revolution.
We are grateful to Dunfermline Chess Club who provide the chess pieces and support those attending.
Book your FREE place below or with an email to info@carnegiebirthplace.com and we will set you up for the match.
